WHY THE NFL HATES THE RAIDERS! - FACT VS. FICTION
Why the Raiders Hate?

Facts vs. Fiction:

1. The game has passed Al Davis by:

Since Bill Walsh no other coach has come up with an offesen invented by them and now the NFL claims the ol' smash mouth running style is how to win in the NFL. Al and other old school coaches bought in the vertical game and I don't think he asked any coach not to run the ball. Al bought the NFL to this point, read your NFL history!

2. “Players and coaches are told to avoid the Raiders.”  By whom?

True: Somedody goes around the league telling coaches the Raiders are cancer and to avoid them.  RaiderNation this should tell you there is a group of NFL insiders who loath your team.  What other pro-club has been treated that way?  As far I hear players are paid well and not mistreated. Although Al has it out with players and coaches but most owners do the same eventually.

2. The Raiders have had lousy drafts, can't draft talent.

Fact: True there have been some disappointments but not too many busts since 2000. They have the NFL's best cover corner, a future pro-bowl guard (Gallery), a qulity pk. Take into account that the ex-Raiders draft picks and free agents are starting all over the NFL (12). Compared to say S.F. the Raiders look very good.

5. Al can't find talent and won't work with coaches

you mean like Norv Turner?

Fact 1: Al gave Turner, Shell, Shannahan and Gruden enough talent andcontrol of their teams to win. Turner and Shell didn't do to well but I feel the NFL helped them to fail.

fact 2: Al hired many of the coaches the NFL think are sooooooo good, as head coaches 1st. A bad team hires bad coaches who become assistants or sports broadcasters look at were many of Al's ex-coaches did.

1. Mike Shannahan/ Led Broncos to two super bowl.
2. John Gruden/ Tampa Bays greatest head coach.
3. Lane Kiffen/ head coach at Tennessee U.
4. Art Shell/ worked for NFL front office
5. Tom Flores/ became G.M. of Seahawks for few years.

I want you to see some of the people who Al claims he advised and you can judge for yourself he is qualified to still be a G.M.

Joe Torre/ managed the Yankess and Dodgers.
Jerry Rosedorf/ Bulls won six NBA championships
Eddie D. Bartolo/ 5 super bowl titles
Jerry Jones/ bought Dallas out of cellar in the 90's.
John Gruden/ beat the Raiders in super bowl
Lane Kiffen/ may dislike Al but wouldn't be a head coach without him.
Mike Shanahan/ won 2 super bowls with Broncos. Mike can't say Al didn't help him but 49ers did too.
Alex Spanos/ yep, seem S.D. can’t go to a Championship without Al having something to do with it. (1994)

The NFL's side of it Successful Owners and coaches who side with the NFL:

1. Robert Kraft/ New England Patriots 3 super bowls
3. Pittsburgh Steelers/ no arguing with the Steelers they were one of NFL greatest  6 titles and 7sb visits
4. Carolina Panthers two super bowl vistit
5. New York Jets 1 super bowl win
6. Wellington Mara/ Giants won 3 super bowls.
7. Chicago Bears/ 1 super bowl victory 2 visits

Rooney Rule? Um I respect the Steelers and what they’ve accomplished but how did the Rooney’s get credit for getting minorities into the NFL’s offices and coaching spots when Al Davis was the first to do it (twice) before any other owner tried to? Even Bill Walsh started talking about it in the early 90’s. However the Steelers did have one of the NFL first starting black quarterbacks.
